About Ten Foot Pole:
For over thirty years, Ten Foot Pole has cultivated an international underground reputation and fan base with their unique blend of skate punk music. They have played hundreds of shows around the world, appealing to crowds that appreciate non-mainstream punk music and a nice-guy punk attitude.
Their tenth full-length release, "Winning," dropped in October 2022 on People of Punk Rock Records. This album showcases their eclectic style, ranging from classic 90's double-time anthems to modern, heavy progressive punk. Expect a mix of melodic and poppy tunes with hardcore bridges that harken back to their 80's hardcore roots.
A Punk Rock Journey:
Ten Foot Pole's journey began in the 80's as the hardcore band Scared Straight, part of the Oxnard California Hardcore (Nardcore) scene. They embarked on their first U.S. tour in 1985, and over the years, their lineup and style evolved. They played a pivotal role in creating the genre of 90's skate punk, with releases on Epitaph Records and extensive touring alongside bands like Face to Face, NOFX, No Use for a Name, and Millencolin.
In the 2000s, as songwriter/guitarist/singer Dennis Jagard developed his career as a concert sound engineer for artists such as Prince, Jimmy Eat World, and "Weird Al" Yankovic, Ten Foot Pole's touring slowed. However, their music continued to flow, and acoustic shows and songs emerged from Dennis' travels with an acoustic guitar.
Join the Punk Rock Legacy:
Ten Foot Pole's legacy in the punk rock scene is undeniable. They've sold over half a million physical albums, yet their DIY underground ethic and sincere songwriting have always remained true to their roots. From playing in squats and dive bars to larger venues, their music still resonates like an underground band, fueled by their credibility and unwavering support from die-hard fans.
