Perla Yuridia Ruiz Castro, the creative genius behind La India Yuridia, is celebrating her 40th birthday in 2023. Born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, she started her comedic journey at a young age, imitating the iconic India MarÃa. Today, she's renowned for her feminist approach to comedy, using her routines and monologues to hilariously mock everyday situations tainted by sexism.
Perla, who is married and a mother, draws inspiration from her own life, her parents' enduring relationship, and the experiences of her female friends and relatives in today's society. Her comedy is refreshingly spontaneous, allowing her to address topics like motherhood and marriage with an element of surprise that keeps audiences coming back for more.
A Comedy Sensation:
Perla Yuridia made her comedy debut at just 14 years old in "Chis Chas Chou," a comedy project. She was discovered by the Monterrey comedian Jesús González Leal, also known as Chis Chas, who invited her to join his show. Today, she's considered one of Mexico's most outstanding comedians.
In 2022, Perla served as a judge on the reality show "El Retador" in Mexico and Univision's "El Retador" in the United States. She's currently a judge on the successful American reality show "Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento."
